Eu tenho tentado configurar o conky para monitorar algumas estatísticas básicas (uso do processador / memória, uso do HDD, etc.) do meu servidor doméstico.
Depois de muita confusão hoje, consegui que o processo funcionasse fazendo login via
screen ssh -X
e depois executando
conky -c /path/to/config
O processo do conky é iniciado no meu laptop e persiste mesmo quando eu fecho a sessão do ssh.
No entanto, estou tentando fazer isso começar de um script no meu laptop para que eu possa executá-lo automaticamente na inicialização.
Eu configurei um usuário que faz login por meio de uma chave sem senha para tentar fazer tudo funcionar (eventualmente, tento tentar obtê-lo para simplesmente solicitar uma senha quando eu fizer login e o processo for iniciado) mas eu simplesmente não consigo fazer isso funcionar.
O script que estou usando é
#/bin/bash
screen ssh -X myconkyuser@myserverip "conky -c /path/to/config"
mas apenas se recusa a exibir conky.
Mesmo inserindo manualmente
screen ssh -X myconkyuser@myserverip "conky -c /path/to/config"
de um terminal não faz isso.
Se eu fizer
screen ssh -X -vv myconkyuser@myserverip "conky -c /path/to/config"
Eu posso ver que a conexão ssh está ocorrendo e o conky está iniciando, ele não está sendo passado para o servidor x do meu laptop corretamente.
Eu também tentei colocar o conky -c /path/to/config
como seu próprio script no servidor e usando
screen ssh -X myconkyuser@myserverip "sh /path/to/conkystartupscript"
mas o resultado é o mesmo.
Vou anexar a saída de -vv
para ver se ela pode lançar alguma luz, suponho que o problema seja que a sessão está sendo encerrada antes que o processo de conky realmente seja exibido na tela, mas eu tentei adicionando um pause 10
abaixo da linha de conky sem sucesso.

Existem alguns erros de sintaxe no arquivo conky (é muito antigo, mas faz o trabalho que eu quero), mas eu não acho que eles estão causando o problema como se eu ssh -X
no servidor e, em seguida, Comece conky tudo funciona como desejado.
(NB a saída do código acima é sem o uso de tela como usando tela limpa o terminal. Parece que ele está passando essencialmente pelo mesmo processo embora)
