Estou tendo um problema estranho depois de ter tentado o desktop gnome e voltar para a unidade no Ubuntu 14.04. Eu tentei desinstalar todos os pacotes desnecessários do gnome.
Agora, depois disso, observei que, após o primeiro login, gedit é aberto somente depois de abri-lo duas vezes. Mas uma vez aberto e fechado nesse login, ele se comporta normalmente. Eu me pergunto o que é ajustado aqui?

Esse erro está relacionado ao serviço zeitgeist (rastreador de atividade do usuário). O DBus não conseguiu gerá-lo. /usr/bin/zeitgeist-daemon ou uma de suas configurações foi removida ou corrompida.
De qualquer forma, caminho rápido para corrigir problemas, reinstalar todos os pacotes relacionados

Então, o que eu juntei aqui é que você adicionou outro ambiente de desktop no Ubuntu? Lamento dizer isso, mas se este for realmente o caso, você terá que reinstalar o Linux. Eu mesmo cometi o mesmo erro quando tentei instalar o ambiente de área de trabalho do KDE no Linux Mint 18; que usa o ambiente de área de trabalho, canela. O resultado final fez com que o sistema operacional alterasse constantemente as resoluções por qualquer motivo e, quando não estava fazendo isso, a tela ficava confusa. Eu finalmente escolhi usar o Ubuntu, mas eu não era fã do visual padrão do Ubuntu, então fui com o Kubuntu.
