Estou executando o Ubuntu 14.04 LTS em uma máquina virtual, e eu estava instalando pacotes, especificamente editores de texto neste caso (emacs23, sublime, vim ..). De qualquer forma, recebo este aviso massivo de configurações de fontes quando tento iniciar o editor depois de instalá-lo.

Eu sou novo no Ubuntu, então eu realmente não sei o que isso significa. Se alguém pudesse ajudar a diagnosticar isso e me dizer como consertar isso seria muito apreciado.

É um bug nas fontes Khmer, veja link .
Se incomoda você e você não precisa de fontes Khmer, você pode se livrar dele removendo (com configuração) as fontes:
apt-get purge fonts-khmeros-core
Se você precisar das fontes, existem várias soluções alternativas no bug mencionado anteriormente. A maneira mais correta parece editar o arquivo com falha e remover as tags e, conforme explicado aqui: link
