Como instalar o arquivo tar.gz [duplicado]

Tentando instalar o Catlateral Damage usando os comandos habituais de extração e instalação no terminal, mas ele continua me jogando erros irritantes. Provavelmente faltando algo óbvio. O arquivo e o arquivo estão no meu desktop. Nota: o arquivo criado pela extração do arquivo começa com o mesmo nome, mas depois muda para "Linux". Eu tentei mudar o nome CatlateralDamage também.

Tente estes comandos,

cd ~/Desktop
tar -xzvf CatlateralDamage_v4.1a_linux.tar.gz

cd /home/rachael/Desktop

então

 tar -zxvf CatlateralDamage_v4.1a_Linux.tar.gz
