após a atualização para 12.04 capitel EVDO modem não está funcionando

Eu tenho um modem BSNL EVDO que estava funcionando bem no Ubuntu 10.10, 11.04 e 11.10. Ontem, após a atualização para 12.04 via gerenciador de atualização, ele não está funcionando e nem sequer foi detectado no gerenciador de rede. Eu baixei o ISO (64 bits) e tentei uma nova instalação depois de formatar a partição, sem efeito.

Estou surpreso que a atualização tenha quebrado, por favor ajude !!!!

PS :: testado e garantido que ainda está funcionando bem no windows

CAPITEL Modem funcionando na minha área de trabalho após o upgrade. Veja esta saída do dmesg do Desktop. Minha nova instalação no netbook não está funcionando!

Abra um terminal em Aplicativos - > Acessórios ( Ctrl + Alt + T ). Então digite:

gksudo gedit /etc/modules

Nota: Ele pedirá para digitar SUDO Passwrod, digite a senha da sua conta de administrador. O prompt de comando não mostrará sua senha, apenas digite-a e pressione a tecla Enter.

Na parte inferior do arquivo, crie duas novas linhas, como esta:

usbserial
option

Em seguida, feche o programa do editor e salve-o. Reinicie o computador e esperamos que você esteja certo a partir de agora!
