HDMI Display parou de funcionar

Ele costumava funcionar, mas de repente parou de funcionar. (sem monitor no monitor, o monitor de energia continua piscando)

É engraçado e inexplicável, mas tudo o que fiz para consertar isso foi

  • Crie uma string modeline usando cvt, $ cvt 1920 1080 (eu sabia o resoultion do monitor)
  • Edite xorg.conf e force o Modeline e diga para ignorar as informações do EDID enviadas pelo monitor. ( link )

Estes passos quebraram o meu sistema quando eu reiniciei e ele foi para algum tipo de modo seguro onde eu poderia editar o meu xorg.conf. Isso também trouxe a exibição no monitor externo de volta. Depois de alguns mexer com xorg.conf eu era capaz de fazer a configuração correta, inicializar de volta ao modo normal, e substitui a configuração modificada com a original que eu tinha feito backup, e tudo funcionou.
