Meu Dell Inspiron 1100 (laptop de 32 bits) está executando o Ubuntu 17.04. A máquina tem um chip gráfico Intel 82845GL, que eu não consigo trabalhar. Eu vou lidar com isso em um post diferente.
Estou tentando executar synaptic em um $DISPLAY diferente, no meu caso, localhost:10.0 , um túnel ssh. Note que eu entrei ( ssh -Y ) como eu e então executei sudo para obter um shell de root.
Isso funciona, mas toda vez que eu uso uma opção de menu, ela se comporta mal / deixa de funcionar e eu recebo um monte de erros, como segue:

Eu vejo um comportamento semelhante com outros aplicativos em execução remotamente. o que estou perdendo? Programas como xterm parecem funcionar bem.
Por que não pode se conectar ao dbus? É isso que está matando isso?
