Há várias postagens nesse sentido, mas nenhuma delas resolveu meu problema ainda. Meu modem USB foi detectado bem em 14.04, mas desde a atualização para 16.04, não consegui me conectar a ele, exceto em raras ocasiões.

Apesar da resposta otimista acima, não consigo mais. No utilitário de rede, a rede de banda larga móvel não é exibida.
