Meu servidor de conexão não pode iniciar no modo em tempo real, apesar de eu estar no grupo audio

No entanto, quando eu inicio o jack via qjackctl com a opção "Realtime" marcada, recebo as seguintes mensagens (na janela Mensagens) contendo o erro "Não é possível usar o agendamento em tempo real":

Tanto quanto eu entendo, ser um membro do grupo audio
deve ser suficiente para ser executado em tempo real. No entanto, esse não é claramente o caso aqui. O que estou fazendo errado ou onde poderia estar o problema?
