como instalar o ANT no ubuntu 14.04

Eu sou novo no Ubuntu e estou tentando instalar o Apache ANT no Ubuntu

Eu baixei o pacote (apache-ant-1.9.4-bin.tar.gz) e em um terminal eu dei um comando como este

sudo apt-get install apache-ant-1.9.4-bin.tar.gz

Eu tenho esses dois erros

O arquivo apache-ant-1.9.4-bin.tar.gz não é um pacote instalável. Um pacote instalável termina com .deb .

Você pode instalar o ant através do gerenciador de pacotes.

Mas primeiro você precisa corrigir um bug no seu sistema:

Abra um terminal e execute este comando

sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list

Remova a linha (linha 2)

sudo apt-get install python-software-properties$

e na linha 35 e 36 adicione um # no início da linha:

# This software is not part of Ubuntu, but is offered by third-party
# developers who want to ship their latest software.

e remova todos os $ do seu sources.list

Em seguida, execute o comando:

sudo apt-get update

Em seguida, instale ant :

sudo apt-get install ant

Simplesmente: sudo apt-get install ant

Se você precisa de uma nova versão, então você tem que extrair o .tar.gz que você baixou para algum lugar e executar o ant a partir daí.

tar xzvf apache-ant-1.9.4-bin.tar.gz extrai o arquivo. É basicamente apenas um arquivo ZIP. Você pode extrair também graficamente do navegador de arquivos.
