O editor de imagens Gimp não está começando

Question

Instalei o editor de imagens gimp no meu Ubuntu 14.04 LTS de 64 bits.

Se eu iniciá-lo no terminal, ele diz apenas:

Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Eu já tentei desinstalar e reinstalar novamente assim:

sudo apt-get remove --purge gimp
sudo apt-get remove gimp
sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get install gimp
gimp

Como instruído, tentei dpkg -l gimp e, em seguida, obtenho:
