Impossível instalar o Ubuntu 15.04 (Vivid Vervet) devido a falha na partição

Question

Estou tentando instalar o Ubuntu em um Lenovo Thinkpad T420 recondicionado com um SSD de 128 GB. Há uma partição win7 de 70 gigabytes e o restante do espaço não é alocado, já que encolhi a partição win7 no Windows. Estou inicializando o Ubuntu de um flash drive. Tanto ao usar o instalador do Ubuntu quanto ao usar o GParted, não consigo criar partições.

Por favor, diga-me que estou apenas fazendo algo realmente estúpido. Eu sou novo nisso! Não entenda realmente o que está acontecendo. Ao usar o instalador, ele exibe a mensagem de erro: The creation of swap space in partition #3 of SCSI5 (0,0,0)(sda) failed. E quando eu tentei instalar o Ubuntu sem uma partição swap, ele exibiu uma mensagem semelhante sobre ser incapaz de criar uma partição ext4.
