O redimensionamento da partição falha com o Gparted ao redimensionar a partição fat32. Ubuntu 14.04

Parece que tenho algumas postagens sobre problemas semelhantes, mas não consegui encontrar uma com uma solução para o meu problema. Estou executando o Ubuntu 14.04 no meu PC e desejo redimensionar e adicionar uma partição em um pendrive USB que possua uma versão ao vivo do Ubuntu 14.04.

Eu carreguei o Gparted usando um CD gparted ao vivo. Em seguida, redimensionei a única partição para manter os dados e deixei algum espaço livre Na nova partição não alocada eu criei uma partição com o sistema de arquivos ex4. ao aplicar as alterações, encontrei um erro ao diminuir a primeira partição.

Alguém tem alguma ideia de como resolver esse problema?

O fschk do Linux não corrige de forma confiável todos os erros FAT. Se você puder colocar suas mãos em uma máquina Windows, faça um chkdsk /f x: , em que x é a letra da unidade USB nessa máquina e redimensione novamente.

Se você não tiver acesso a uma máquina Windows, faça o download do FreeDOS .

Obrigado a todos! Eu usei a sugestão de Fabby e executei chkdsk e houve erros que as janelas corrigiram, mas isso não resolveu o problema que tive.

Eu decidi que poderia ser que o próprio pen drive fosse a fonte do problema, então o substituí por outro pen drive e repeti as etapas (formatando para FAT32, instalando um live inicializável Ubuntu com persistente, excluindo o arquivo casper-rw, redimensionando usando o live CD do GParted e criando um novo diretório nomes casper-rw).

Desta vez deu certo!

Este parece ser um bug com a versão específica de gparted em Ubuntu 14.04. Falhas repetidas com o redimensionamento de partições do fat32 usando o Ubuntu 14.04 também são relatadas nesta pergunta do Askubuntu a>.

A solução (para mim) é bem simples. Use o Ubuntu 12.04 ou versões anteriores em outra máquina ou em um liveusb. Consegui encolher as partições do fat32 nas thumb-drives sem problemas.

Se o objetivo é ter um ubuntu ao vivo na unidade flash com partição persistente, você não precisa nem mesmo de um CD ao vivo do Gparted. Você pode configurar partições primeiro e depois instalar o ubuntu ao vivo mais tarde com o usb-creator-gtk.

Basta inicializar a partir do ubuntu cd ou até mesmo usar o virtualbox para executar o Ubuntu e tudo pode ser feito em uma sessão. A versão do Gparted disponível para o Ubuntu pode criar e remover partições sem nenhum problema, mas sempre (?) Falha no redimensionamento da partição.

Eu acabei de construir o libparted / Gparted do git source no Ubuntu 14.04, parece que o redimensionamento do FAT32 funciona com isso; YMMV. Aqui estão as minhas notas (como exemplo, eu trabalho em /tmp aqui, e eu não faço uma instalação; também desculpe pela bagunça):
