add-apt-repositório ppa: me dá erros [duplicados]

Question

Sou novo no Ubuntu (12.04.3). Eu estou tentando instalar o freio de mão e eu tentei cerca de 6 maneiras diferentes parecem não funcionar, então agora estou pedindo ajuda.

Etapa 1 sudo add-apt-repository ppa:stebbins/handbrake-releases

$ sudo add-apt-repository  ppa:stebbins/handbrake-releases

Eu recebo e erro o que significa o erro e como corrigi-lo?

No arquivo /etc/apt/sources.list eu tenho isso

##ppa:stebbins/handbrake-releases
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/stebbins/handbrake-releases/ubuntu quantal main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/stebbins/handbrake-releases/ubuntu quantal main

Se eu ignorar o erro e continuar.

Etapa 2 sudo apt-get update

Eu recebo.

Adicione o repositório de sudo add-apt-repository ppa:stebbins/handbrake-releases
Em seguida, atualize:

sudo apt-get update

Em seguida, instale:

sudo apt-get install handbrake
