Ajuda com vlc e erro de dispositivo de captura de vídeo

Estou executando o vlc 2.0.8 e quando tento transmitir minha câmera de cctv (um dispositivo de captura de vídeo stk1160), recebo este erro: -

 cvlc /dev/video0

e se eu fizer vlc /dev/video0 , recebo este erro: -

 File reading failed:
VLC could not read the file (Invalid argument). and [0x615108] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
