Por que não consigo me conectar a redes sem fio?

Parece ser uma pergunta repetida, mas não consigo encontrar a resposta no banco de dados de perguntas, portanto, vou começar com o adaptador que tenho:

EDIT 3: Wireless networks are detected, but unable to connect to any.

EDIT 4: I have Dual booting into windows 7/XP and Ubuntu, Being both Windows able to >connect normally to any wireless.

A conexão a várias conexões WEP após a configuração de uma Chave WEP compartilhada / Após as atualizações parece ter quebrado a autenticação, e ela sempre pede a chave, mesmo que esteja correta. Eu poderia conectar perfeitamente sem fio com a instalação base 12.04 com "Atualizações durante a instalação".

Eu tenho os drivers jockey Broadcom STA ativados.

O que há de errado?

EDIT: fonte do kernel bcmwl já está na versão mais recente; linux-libc-dev, libc6-dev, linux-headers-genérico, linux-headers também são; A lista negra não ajuda nem com o ndiswrapper; removendo com modprobe não está funcionando

EDIT 2: Reinstalando o bcmwl-kernel-source, como indicado em Como faço para que a placa BCM43228 funcione no kernel 3.4 ou superior? :
