Não é possível montar / ver / acessar dispositivo USB - ttyUSB0

Estou tentando me conectar a um relógio esportivo com GPS (semelhante aos relógios Garmin). Estou executando o Ubuntu 12,04, 64 bits. Idealmente, gostaria de conectar o relógio a um dos softwares de esporte do sistema operacional, como o esporte de tartaruga ou o pytrainer. Atualmente, no entanto, não consigo acessar os dados brutos salvos no próprio dispositivo.

O relógio sinaliza que a bateria está sendo carregada, por isso parece ter algum tipo de sinal da conexão.

No entanto, não consigo acessar o dispositivo nem aparece no nautilus. A saída relevante do dmesg é a seguinte:

Como eu vejo nos registros, este dispositivo GPS não fornece uma interface de armazenamento que pode ser montada e navegada usando o gerenciador de arquivos ( nautilus ).

Você precisa de ferramentas dedicadas para ler dados através da interface serial /dev/ttyUSB0 . Tente usar gpsbabel , ele suporta muitos protocolos para dispositivos de coleta de dados GPS.
