Descobri em fóruns de desenvolvedores Nokia que isso é um problema com a versão Qt enviada no Ubuntu. Mais precisamente com o plugin de estilo. De qualquer forma, parece que há uma solução alternativa. Você deve executar o instalador com o parâmetro -style cleanlooks .

Há algo errado com o pacote qt-at-spi (construir com asserções ON?). A remoção resolve o problema, mas pode reduzir os recursos de acessibilidade em outro software.
