Trackpad “Absoluto” após a atualização para 16.10

Acabei de atualizar meu Ubuntu 16.04 para 16.10 e tenho alguns problemas, sendo o mais irritante a nova configuração do trackpad.

Quando o Xorg é iniciado, o trackpad está usando as coordenadas de toque absoluto, como uma mesa digitalizadora.

A GUI de configurações do sistema tem uma única guia de configuração para o trackpad e o mouse, por isso não sei como reconfigurá-lo corretamente. Devo alterar o arquivo xorg.conf? Como?

Executar em um terminal

sudo apt install xserver-xorg-input-all

e reinicie.

O driver de espaço do usuário foi removido durante a atualização por algum motivo.
