Por que o pacote 'postgresql' não está listado ao executar 'apt-cache search postgresql'?

Acabei de instalar o servidor postgresql na minha máquina, assim fiz:

apt-cache search postgresql

e listou um monte de pacotes relacionados ao postgresql:

Eu consegui encontrá-lo pesquisando como instalar o postgresql no Ubuntu ( apt-get install postgresql ), mas ainda estou me perguntando por que ele não foi listado por apt-cache search .

Ah, o pacote foi listado, mas cometi o erro de pensar que os resultados da pesquisa estavam em ordem alfabética, então eu perdi. Por alguma razão estranha, parece que algumas partes das listas são ordenadas e outras não.

apt-cache search --names-only postgresql ajuda a reduzir os resultados também.
