Hoje, depois de tentar instalar e remover o BURG e alguns temas, enfrentei um problema. Agora não consigo instalar ou remover nada.
Aqui está a saída (infelizmente em parte no finlandês, não consegui alterar o idioma, pois parece depender também das listagens de pacotes:

Käsittelyssä tapahtui liian monta virhettä:
burg-theme-fortune
burg-theme-gnome
burg-theme-picchio

Basicamente, o que parece acontecer é isto:
Cria as listas de pacotes, depois tenta remover o pacote burg-theme-fortune. Isso falha porque o comando update-burg não foi encontrado. Então o dpkg reporta um erro ao processar o pacote.
O mesmo acontece com todos os 3 pacotes.
No final, afirma que houve muitos erros e os pacotes permanecem instalados.
Eu também tentei instalar o burg como ele tenta executar o comando update-burg, mas parece que ele tenta excluir esses pacotes sempre quando tento instalar ou remover ou fazer qualquer coisa com o apt.
Alguma idéia de como eu poderia resolver esse problema?

Este é um tiro longo, mas você pode tentar:
sudo mkdir /boot/burg
sudo touch /boot/burg/locale
Em seguida, tente novamente para reinstalar o burg:
sudo apt-get install --reinstall burg burg-theme-fortune burg-theme-gnome burg-theme-picchio
Quando tudo estiver instalado, remova os temas primeiro e, finalmente, Burg.
