POSTFIX: não é possível enviar email para outros domínios usando o cliente de email

Eu configurei o POSTFIX usando o Guia da Ajuda do Ubuntu . Posso enviar e receber e-mails para qualquer domínio enquanto uso ssh , mas quando uso clientes de e-mail (como o Thunderbird ou o iPhone Mail), posso enviar e-mails pelo meu próprio domínio, sem Gmail ou qualquer outro domínio. Procurei soluções, encontrei esses links, mas não respondi:

Atualização:

Configurei dovecot e agora posso enviar e receber e-mails usando Rainloop , mas ainda não consigo conectar nenhum cliente para o meu email.

o servidor recusa a conexão a 456 e 587, e meu iPhone Mail diz logins are disabled for domain (tentei as portas 25, 143 e 110)

O howto que você seguiu oferece uma configuração bem básica. O que você provavelmente quer é usar o SASL para fazer o smtp autenticado (porta 587 ou 465). Isso é perfeito para clientes de e-mail como o Thunderbird. Com sua configuração atual, você pode configurar o software de webmail como o Squirrelmail ou o Roundcube, e isso funcionaria, mas adicionar o SASL é provavelmente o que você deseja. Você pode continuar usando o Courier imap / pop3, mas eu recomendo mudar para o Dovecot. O Dovecot é um excelente software de servidor imap / pop3.
