Problema com jogo a vapor e mono após atualização 15.04 a 15.10

Eu estava jogando um jogo de vapor na semana passada, sem problema. Então eu fiz o upgrade do Ubuntu Mate 15.04 para 15.10 e estou recebendo erros.

Abaixo está o arquivo de log. A maior parte parece algo sem sentido para mim, mas o mono parece estar causando um problema fatal. Alguém que sabe o que fazer com isso? Posso fazer o downgrade do mono de volta para a versão anterior? Não tenho certeza de como fazer isso, então qualquer ajuda é apreciada.

Eu instalei o ubuntu-desktop, isso parece ter resolvido o problema.

Editar: Para instalar o ubuntu-desktop, abra o terminal e digite

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

Como mencionado na pergunta, eu estava rodando o MATE (variante do gnome2 até onde eu posso dizer), não o Unity que vem no pacote ubuntu-desktop.
