Não é possível instalar o VLC Ubuntu 14.04 devido a problemas de dependência [duplicado]

Verifique se você ativou o repositório parceiros canônicos no arquivo /etc/apt/sources.list :

1. Primeiro, faça um backup do arquivo /etc/apt/sources.list :

   sudo cp /etc/apt/sources.list /etc/sources.list.bk
   

2. abra o arquivo usando qualquer editor e remova o comentário da linha a seguir removendo ## do começo:

   deb http://archive.canonical.com/ubuntu trusty partner

   sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
   

   ctrl + w para pesquisar canonical e depois de descomentar,

   ctrl + x e y para salvar e sair.

3. Atualize o repositório e instale o vlc:

   sudo apt-get update
   sudo apt-get install vlc -f
   

Na verdade, alguns componentes não estão disponíveis no repositório nativo e requerem outros repositórios de outra fonte, como os Parceiros Canônicos . Você pode tentar. Deixe-me saber para quaisquer problemas ou se você precisar de mais esclarecimentos.
