Por que isso está acontecendo e como corrigi-lo? Estou executando o Ubuntu 14.10
Esta é provavelmente apenas uma condição de corrida enquanto o espelho é atualizado. Também é possível que você esteja atrás de um proxy transparente, talvez até mesmo sem você saber.
De qualquer forma, espere apenas algumas horas ou durante a noite e tente novamente.
Se o erro persistir, você pode mudar para outro repositório (ex. ... us.archive.ubuntu.com ...) ou remover arquivos de índice baixados anteriormente no diretório /var/lib/apt/lists .
Você tem um problema com sua internet ou o servidor está temporariamente desligado. Você pode tentar novamente em outro momento.
Você pode verificar se consegue acessar o servidor com wget:
wget http://dk.archive.ubuntu.com/
ATUALIZAÇÃO: se alguém se deparar com este problema, consertei o meu, substituindo o conteúdo de /etc/apt/sources.list pelo seguinte:
deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ vivid main
deb http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ vivid-updates main
... então execute sudo apt-get dist-upgrade .
Eu testei servidores dos EUA, como dizem alguns e isso não funcionou. Testado alguns servidores holandeses e não funcionou, existem muitos servidores Ubuntu que não funcionam ou estão indisponíveis. Embora o Ubuntu tenha a opção de procurar o melhor servidor funcionando e disponível . Agora funciona.
sudo update-manager
e, em seguida, selecione a guia Ubuntu Software - > Downloaded from - > other - > Select Best server
Agora funciona
