O Samba iniciou duas vezes na inicialização após a atualização para o 14.04

Por padrão, o diretório ativo do samba e o serviço de controlador de domínio serão iniciados, além de smbd e nmbd. Para um servidor autônomo, isso não é necessário. Basta definir o serviço para inicialização manual para se livrar da mensagem [fail] com a seguinte instrução como root:

echo manual | tee /etc/init/samba-ad-dc.override

Parece que o método acima é para upstart , que foi substituído desde 15.04. Se systemd estiver em uso, use este método:

sudo systemctl disable samba-ad-dc
