Se você tiver uma placa ATI, pode tentar desinstalar o pacote fglrx e instalar o pacote fglrx-update .

Com ou sem o fglrx-update, tive vários erros. Não só hugin, outros aplicativos também. Eu instalei o Ubuntu 13.04 e os problemas desapareceram. A raiz do problema ainda é desconhecida, mas eu não me importo mais.
