O problema é que libgd2-noxpm e libgd2-xpm entram em conflito, tanto quanto eu posso dizer.

Sim, o ubuntu-desktop é extremamente importante, o seu sistema não pode funcionar sem ele. Este é um bug nas dependências necessárias do gnuplot, por favor, relate-o no launchpad.net.
