Lista de redes WiFi disponíveis não estão aparecendo

Estou executando o Ubuntu 16.04 em inicialização dupla com o Windows. Embora a rede sem fio funcione bem no Windows, o menu de rede superior direito do Ubuntu não exibe nenhuma rede sem fio disponível.

A única maneira de acessar a Internet é usando Ethernet.

A linha network UNCLAIMED me fez pensar que o driver está faltando, então tentei usar ndisgtk para executar o driver do Windows para meu adaptador sem fio, o RT3290, mas ainda não mostra nenhuma rede sem fio. Eu sou muito novo no Ubuntu, então qualquer ajuda seria apreciada, obrigado.

Comece a postar a saída de

rfkill list 

para garantir que não haja blocos macios ou duros. Blocos duros geralmente são interruptores, drivers de blocos flexíveis. Então

lsmod | sort

para ver se o driver rt2800pci está listado (acho que é esse para o seu hardware). Deve estar na instalação padrão, nada de especial para obtê-lo. Se não estiver carregando, verifique se há alguma linha em qualquer arquivo em /etc/modprobe.d semelhante a:

blacklist rt2800pci  

e remova ou comente-os.

Localize o firmware ausente com:

dmesg | grep -i firmware

e, se estiver relacionado ao hardware sem fio, instale / reinstale, se necessário, o pacote linux-firmware. No pior dos casos, faça o download do firmware do fornecedor. Quando o firmware estiver presente e carregado, o driver deverá ser carregado automaticamente se não houver mais linhas de lista negra em nenhum arquivo em /etc/modprobe.d.
