Quando eu corro
$ sudo apt-get install bc
Eu recebo o seguinte:

Esta é uma nova instalação limpa do servidor Ubuntu 17.10. Minha conexão à internet está funcionando bem sem problemas
Se eu executar: sudo apt update , depois de uma longa espera, recebo:
