Força de conexão LAN 1000 MBit

Eu tenho um computador com uma conexão LAN de 1000 MBit, que funciona no Windows. No entanto, o Ubuntu só configura uma conexão de 100 MBit. Como posso forçá-lo manualmente a 1000 MBit?

Eu tentei usar ethtool , mas isso não funcionou ("Operação não suportada"). Qualquer outra coisa que eu possa tentar?
