Não é possível configurar a taxa de atualização correta para o Monitor de TV no Xorg

Question

Meu problema é com um TCL 49s405 4K TV no Ubuntu 16.04.3. Eu automaticamente recebo 4K @ 60Hz no Windows, com renderização 4: 4: 4, mas o xorg não reconhece todas as modelines do seu arquivo EDID. Eu tentei quase todas as etapas de solução de problemas que eu poderia encontrar lá fora, mesmo aquelas que eram de outras plataformas Linux. Alguns deles são:

• Adicione manualmente o modeline construído com cvt para xrandr que sempre retorna: "xrandr: Configure crtc 1 falhou".
• Configurou todas as especificações do monitor no xorg.conf.
• Tentei fazer com que o xorg ignorasse o arquivo EDID, mas como estou usando os gráficos da Intel, a opção não faz nada.
• Extraiu manualmente o arquivo EDID do Windows e apontou a porta de exibição para ele, mas isso quebra o lightDM e ele nem inicia. Irá em "Modo gráfico baixo".
• Eu tenho monitorado o Xorg.0.log enquanto estou fazendo tudo isso e a única coisa que descobri é que o xorg "corrompe" (na verdade faz alterações no) o arquivo EDID que eu copiei no diretório X11. O xorg logs mostra o rabisco ao tentar lê-lo. Eu conheço o arquivo que eu cópia está bem porque eu li com edide-decode antes de reiniciar o X, e parece bem, mas mostra caracteres rabiscos no começo do arquivo depois.

A única vez que cheguei perto de obter 3840x2160 @ 60Hz é com uma modeline reduzida. No entanto, isso faria com que o monitor mudasse para o modo 4: 2: 0 e dificultasse a leitura do texto, que é o que eu quero fazer com isso.

A modelagem que o arquivo EDID de TV mostra para 4k @ 60 não corresponde aos números que o CVT produz, mas quando eu tentei com o modeline copiado diretamente do arquivo EDID, xrandr retorna o mesmo erro. Eu também tentei adicionar isto ao xorg.conf com a e defini-lo como o modo preferido, e ele não funciona também.
