não pode atualizar ou instalar nada devido a dependências não atendidas (incorretas) em 17.04

De repente, não consigo instalar ou atualizar nada devido a dependências não atendidas. Abaixo está um extrato de atualização apt. Tanto quanto eu posso ver é provavelmente mais ou menos todos os pacotes instalados no sistema, incluindo ubuntu-desktop, sistema ubuntu, etc.

Todas as dependências não atendidas estão incorretas (que eu verifiquei) e estão realmente instaladas e funcionando bem.

Como recomendado (pelo apt e outras questões / respostas no fórum), tentei o apt --fix-broken install, mas isso é ainda mais assustador.

Eu não tentei continuar porque tenho um strong sentimento de que isso não terminará bem.

dpkg --configure -a não muda nada.

Alguém tem uma ideia de como recuperar as dependências?
