Erro após desligar a conexão VPN L2TP - Ubuntu 16.10

Depois de desligar a conexão VPN L2TP, estou tendo o System reportado e a caixa de diálogo Error. Por favor, verifique os registros do formulário var/log/syslog . Também não tenho certeza se isso está relacionado, mas o Google Chrome lembra a localização da VPN e mantém a página de pesquisa padrão relacionada a esse local (a alteração do mecanismo de pesquisa padrão é que as configurações do Chrome corrigem esse problema). Rodando o Ubuntu 16.10.

Sou muito novo no linux. Alguma idéia de qual é a causa raiz do problema?

Embora os comandos corretos devam ser:

sudo apt-get install network-manager=1.2.2-0ubuntu0.16.04.4
sudo service network-manager restart

Espero que eles resolvam o bug para a próxima atualização.

Acredito que seu problema está relacionado a um bug na versão mais recente do gerenciador de rede.

O downgrade deve corrigir o problema. Você pode fazer isso executando estes comandos

sudo apt install network-manager=1.2.2-0ubuntu0.16.04.4
sudo service network-manager restart
