O Wi-fi é desconectado automaticamente no Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. Desativar e reativar o wi-fi não funciona até que eu reinicie.

Eu sugiro atualizar o kernel. Eu tenho exatamente o mesmo adaptador sem fio que funciona bem com o kernel 4.8.

Executar em um terminal

sudo apt install linux-generic-hwe-16.04

e reinicie.
