Eu preciso de ajuda para que meu cartão wifi funcione. Eu migrei do w7 para o Ubuntu 16.04 LTS e meu problema começou.
Minha placa sem fio está ativada nas configurações do BIOS e já pressionei Fn + F8 para ativá-la.
Ao olhar também lspci -knn eu tenho isso:

Verificando o dmesg | grep iwlwifi eu encontrei esta mensagem:
RF_KILL bit toggled to disable radio.
Eu suspeito que isso seja um indicativo do problema que estou enfrentando.
Eu já tentei fazer algumas sequências como:
rmmod iwldvm
rmmod iwlwifi
rfkill unblock all
modprobe iwlwifi
modprobe iwldvm

The thing which solved my case was setting the wifi ON using hardware switch.
Try it: Boot into ubuntu in recovery mode and select enable networking
Reboot and all is done. I then had Hard blocked: no and my wifi started working
