Eu li muitas das postagens sobre como restaurar o iniciador do Unity, mas nenhuma das soluções testadas funcionou. Um dia estava funcionando, no dia seguinte - se foi. O gerente de compiz não abrirá também. Ao tentar redefinir o Unity, apareceu o seguinte:

Espero que a solução funcione e resolva esse problema.
Parece que o problema está na configuração do compiz.
Tente reinstalar o compiz:
sudo apt-get remove compizconfig-settings-manager
sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
Se ainda não exibir o encaixe ou o painel, pode ser um problema de driver / opengl. Tente reinstalar seus drivers AMD / Nvidia.
