dmesg | grep saa7164 não exibe nada, por quê?

Estou usando o Ubuntu 16.04. Eu instalei um cartão Hauppauge Win TV-HVR-2200 MC e fiz o seguinte (de Ajuda com o hauppauge wintv-hvr-2250 no Ubuntu 13.04 ):

I copied these files

NXP7164-2010-03-10.1.fw
v4l-saa7164-1.0.2-3.fw
v4l-saa7164-1.0.3-3.fw

to /lib/firmware

you can get them from here http://www.steventoth.net/linux/hvr22xx/firmwares/

just look through the folders and you'll find them.

reboot and they should load.

you can check with dmesg | grep saa7164

Quando digito dmesg | grep saa7164 no prompt de comando, não recebo nada.

Eu abri o VLC e ele exibe o Hauppauge WinTV-HVR2200, mas não reproduz nada.

Quando digito mplayer tv:// no prompt de comando, obtenho:

Tanto o mplayer quanto o vlc reconhecem o cartão Hauppauge WinTV-HVR2200, Por que dmesg | grep saa7164 não exibe nada? Existe alguém que possa me ajudar por favor?
