Você só precisa usar $(markup_git_branch $(git_branch))
no seu prompt, onde quer que você queira mostrar o status e a ramificação do commit.
Há uma pequena alteração no código original aqui: o 3[0;30m
no final deve ser 3[0;0m
para redefinir a cor do prompt. O primeiro define preto, o último redefine a formatação no texto.
