Eu tenho o Wine instalado. Eu instalei um arquivo MS Office 2010 Professional Plus (.iso).
Eu abri com o Disk Image Mounter, e ele gerou uma pasta para mim. Eu entrei no Wine e digitei o nome do diretório, etc. e então /setup.exe , já que era o nome do arquivo de configuração.
No meio da instalação, o Wine diz que encontrou erros e a instalação falhou.
Esta é a parte do Terminal que parece conter os erros - é uma espécie de log de erros, já que executei a configuração do MS Office através do Terminal.

Eu tive um problema semelhante que o instalador não conseguiu escrever uma chave de registro.
Eu encontrei este comentário como mudar o vinho para 32 bits. Eu usei provavelmente 64 bits no Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
Isso funcionou bem para mim ...
Ah, ano, e configurei a versão do Windows para o Windows 7.
