Script para receber notificação por email no Ubuntu 14.04 quando o sistema é desligado e inicializa

Estou usando o Ubuntu 14.04. Eu quero escrever um script de shell para obter uma notificação por e-mail sempre que o meu sistema for desligado e inicializado. Por favor me ajude.
