No comando ifconfig ele mostrará wlan0 quando seu wifi estiver habilitado. Então, você precisa ativá-lo em network-manager .

verifique se a sua placa wireless não está bloqueada usando o comando

rfkill list

se estiver bloqueando, torne-os desbloqueados usando o comando

sudo  rfkill unblock wifi

Quanto ao wireless, sugiro que você experimente o arquivo de firmware mais novo. Primeiro, faça backup do arquivo existente:

cd /lib/firmware
sudo mv iwlwifi-7260-7.ucode  iwlwifi-7260-7.ucode.bak

Agora faça o download do arquivo mais recente:

sudo wget https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/egrumbach/linux-firmware.git/plain/iwlwifi-7260-7.ucode

Reinicie e diga se funciona melhor agora.
