KLatexFormula falha ao mostrar qualquer fórmula

Eu recentemente instalei o KLatexFormula em um Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Começa bem, mas não converte qualquer fórmula que eu digite. em vez disso, abre uma janela de erro com o seguinte texto:

Eu tive o mesmo problema e não encontrei nenhuma solução no google. Então, mudo para o EqualX - > link
