Os testes SMART exibem um valor recuperado de Hardware ECC com oscilação rápida

Eu estive sujeito a uma enorme quantidade de problemas no meu desktop esta noite, incluindo a quase perda de dados devido a corrupção (no diretório / tmp!?) em um disco e comportamento errático do outro disco.

Um disco é usado para armazenamento de arquivos e o outro é usado somente para espaço de troca. O espaço de swap HDD (40gb) me deu essa resposta (no final) depois de executar sudo smartctl --all /dev/sda .

Os problemas que eu desconfiei foram o valor do Hardware ECC Recovered (que tem flutuado muito rapidamente nos 10000s até os 40000s altos recentemente):

Hardware ECC Recovered S.M.A.R.T. parameter indicates time between ECC-corrected errors.

Não parece surpreendente que o valor bruto pule um pouco.
