Solta problema de configuração com o Gerenciador de Pacotes Synaptic

Question

Atualizei recentemente meu Ubuntu 10 (lúcido) para 14 (fiel). Agora o gerenciador de pacotes synaptic se recusa a dizer:

E: The value 'lucid' is invalid for APT::Default-Release as such a release is not  available in the sources
E: _cache->open() failed, please report.

Eu tentei encontrar essa referência em /etc , /var e minha pasta home , mas não encontrei nenhuma corrigindo o problema.

Alguém pode ajudar?

EDIT : Eu quero deixar claro que eu já pesquisei os arquivos de configuração mais óbvios como /etc/apt/source.list e o Ubuntu software center funciona corretamente (mesmo com o apt baseado também).

Eu li novamente o erro que você tem. Isso me levou a ler novamente sua pergunta.

É inútil tentar resolver o seu problema, porque assim que você consertar (eu me pergunto se é realmente possível), você encontrará vários outros problemas que poderiam nunca ser resolvidos. Mas por quê?

A razão é simples: você pode atualizar o Ubuntu apenas para a próxima versão que o segue na hierarquia dos lançamentos do Ubuntu. Por exemplo: você pode atualizar para o Ubuntu 14.04 somente se você estiver executando o Ubuntu 13.10.

Você não especificou a versão do Ubuntu que você está executando (10.04 ou 10.10). Portanto, será um processo longo para você atualizar para o Ubuntu 14.04, porque você deve atualizar seguindo este esquema:

1. Atualize o Ubuntu 10.04 para o Ubuntu 12.04
2. Atualize o Ubuntu 12.04 para o Ubuntu 12.10
3. Atualize o Ubuntu 12.10 para o Ubuntu 13.04
4. Atualize o Ubuntu 13.04 para o Ubuntu 13.10
5. Atualize o Ubuntu 13.04 para o Ubuntu 14.04

É aí que está o erro. Depois disso, o synaptic deve funcionar.

Você provavelmente poderia apenas consertar um ou dois valores, mas como a configuração sináptica obviamente foi oncoherent, eu recomendaria apenas removê-la para obter uma nova limpa.

Eu tive um problema semelhante no meu sistema e consertei em segundos.
