Versão do Ubuntu 10.04 LTS

mleschishin@borealis-ubuntu1:~$ sudo apt-get --reinstall install samba

mleschishin@borealis-ubuntu1:~$ sudo dpkg --audit
The following packages are only half configured, probably due to problems
configuring them the first time. The configuration should be retried using
dpkg --configure <package> or the configure menu option in dselect:
samba SMB/CIFS file, print, and login server for Unix

mleschishin@borealis-ubuntu1:~$ sudo dpkg --configure samba

Emitindo

sudo dpkg –audit

não retornou erros.
