Tenho dual booted windows e Ubuntu 12.10, mas o gerenciador de inicialização do Windows assume o comando grub e não consigo inicializar o ubuntu. Eu tentei seguir as instruções aqui: Como posso reparar o grub? (Como obter o Ubuntu de volta depois de instalar o Windows?) mas requer conhecer a partição em que o Ubuntu é instalado.
Eu iniciei usando um live cd e executei alguns comandos mencionados nesse link:

Não tenho certeza de qual partição (sda1? sda2? sdb1?) está instalada no Ubuntu. Seria ótimo se alguém pudesse me ajudar com isso!
Inicialize o ubuntu live cd, escolha Try Ubuntu , conecte-se à Internet e digite os seguintes comandos no terminal para instalar boot-repair .
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:yannubuntu/boot-repair && sudo apt-get update e sudo apt-get install -y boot-repair && boot-repair
Clique em Recommended Repair .
Reinicie o pc, você deve obter o menu grub com acesso ao Ubuntu.
Eu não consegui iniciar o Ubuntu 12.04.4 com o XP, ele não foi encontrado. Eu tenho o meu XP, nada mais. Eu instalei o grup2win e editei a lista do grup. O problema ainda estava lá. Depois de consultar o Ease Partition Master entendi, eu tenho o meu Ubuntu na partição 6 (não 2 ou 3 ou 4 ...). Depois de editar o grup2win novamente, recebi meu Ubuntu.
