Como fazer o “xrandr” funcionar com o GMA500?

É erro no driver do chip gráfico ou Xorg ou kernel?

Eu sou Asus T91mt com GMA500, Ubuntu 12.04.1.

Eu também gostaria de ver apenas um aviso de conexão, pelo menos.

Você não pode "fazer" xrandr funcionar com uma placa de vídeo específica; ou o driver suporta xrandr ou não. Adicionar suporte ao xrandr significa modificar o driver.
