Com o Ubuntu 13.04, não consigo instalar nenhuma parte da pilha LAMP devido a pacotes quebrados. Eu tentei
sudo apt-get -f install php5
sudo apt-get --purge remove php5
sudo apt-get autoremove
bem como tentar instalar todas as dependências listadas em todas as permutações do pedido
sudo apt-get --fix-broken --ignore-hold install php5

Instalar o php5:
sudo apt-get install php5
Instalar o apache:
sudo apt-get install apache2
Para usar o php5 com o apache2, instale:
sudo apt-get install libapache2-mod-php5
Instale o cliente e servidor mysql:
sudo apt-get install mysql-client mysql-server
E é isso, você tem sua pilha LAMP instalada!
