install skype 4.3 mas apenas 4.2 instala

por isso tenho tentado de tudo para instalar o 4.3, mas sempre que o instalo, o tempo passa pelo gdebi, ou pelo centro de software, ele diz que está instalando o 4.3, mas quando abro ele só o 4.2 está instalado. Eu não teria nenhum problema com 4.2, mas 4.2 não conecta minha senha e tudo está certo, mas sempre diz "skype não pode se conectar" estou fazendo algo errado aqui, ou alguém já enfrentou esse problema? Eu ouvi algumas pessoas descrevendo um .skype aparecendo em sua pasta pessoal, mas nenhuma está lá para mim quando eu clico em casa. tão im clueless aqui: - (

Ao instalar o Canonical Partner, certifique-se de instalar os pacotes skype e skype-bin. Então, se você usa uma janela de terminal, você precisa:

sudo apt-get install skype skype-bin

Isso deve instalar a versão mais recente (4.3).

Este é um exemplo de atualização do Skype 4.2 para o 4.3:
